Make natural ingredients a part of your oral hygiene routine and start enjoying their many benefits. You’ll not only be helping the planet – since these ingredients don’t harm the environment – you’ll also be making a commitment to optimal oral health.

The benefits of natural toothpastes and mouthwashes

The first step to adding natural products to your daily oral hygiene routine is to use toothpastes and mouthwashes with natural ingredients that provide all-round protection against cavities, tooth sensitivity and gum disease. Remember that the mouth is a very sensitive part of your body, and that when you use mouthwashes and toothpastes you always end up swallowing a small amount. If your daily mouthwash and toothpaste are made with natural products, you’ll get extra benefit for your health.

At Lacer Natur we are aware of the importance of using natural ingredients in daily oral hygiene. That’s why we have developed a range of organic products based on natural ingredients: our toothpaste, composed of xylitol, Biosecur® Organic Oral Care and fluoride; and our mouthwash, whose main active elements are Biosecur® Organic Oral Care and xylitol. Below, we explain the benefits and properties of each of these ingredients one by one.

Xylitol can be defined as a natural sweetener extracted from sustainable sources, since it is present in vegetables and fruits such as sweetcorn and strawberries. Unlike sugar, it is not harmful to oral health. In fact, quite the opposite: it has been shown to be excellent for reducing the formation of cavities and helping to prevent gum diseases such as gingivitis and periodontitis. It also helps the mouth produce saliva, which is essential to regulate pH balance by controlling acid and protecting tooth enamel.

Biosecur® Organic Oral Care

These are natural extracts of three citrus fruits that provide bioflavonoids and polyphenols. Bioflavonoids come from plants — they are found naturally in fruits, vegetables and flowers — and they are known for their antioxidant properties. Some of their many benefits include helping improve blood flow and reducing swelling, and they also have vasoprotective properties (in other words, they help look after the blood vessels in your mouth).

Polyphenols are compounds produced by plants that are concentrated in fruits, roots or seeds. In oral health, they are especially valued for their antioxidant quality, their antimicrobial effects and their ability to inhibit the adhesion of pathogens to oral mucus, making them a perfect agent to protect against tooth cavities.

Fluorine is a mineral that can be found in various types of fish and even in water. When it comes into contact with the teeth it reduces the solubility of the enamel, making it harder and increasing its resistance to the action of acids. This reduces the chances of cavities occurring. Fluoride is an important agent when it comes to preventing cavities, remineralising teeth and fighting bacterial plaque.

Now you know the benefits of natural ingredients and the positive effect they can have in your oral care routine. They’re a healthy alternative to take care of your smile – and those of your loved ones.
